AI Principal Product Manager
About this role
The team at The Knot Worldwide is building a brand new AI product in the wedding planning space from zero to one, aiming to simplify a complex, emotional process for couples. Working with startup-like autonomy within a dominant industry brand, the AI Principal Product Manager will own the strategy, development, and launch of this intelligent experience. The person in this role will leverage proprietary assets such as the vendor graph, behavioral data, and brand trust to create category-defining features.
Ideal candidates bring a strong background in consumer product management, hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered applications, and a foundational understanding of the modern AI stack and production costs. Someone who thrives with ambiguity, exercises founder-like instincts, and possesses sharp commercial instincts will do exceptionally well.
What you will do
- Manage the complete product lifecycle from initial strategy and rapid prototyping to shipped product and iteration loops.
- Define the market case, product positioning, and category narrative alongside product marketing.
- Establish what constitutes trustworthy AI by determining when the system should guide, ask, or act while keeping users in control.
- Execute rapid build-measure-learn loops through weekly prototyping and early user testing.
- Own product measurement, unit economics, and usage-based cost constraints.
- Translate proprietary company assets into unique product advantages that general-purpose AI cannot replicate.
- Act as a senior thought partner to leadership across product, engineering, design, marketing, and data science.
What you need
- Possess 8+ years of product management experience in consumer products at scale.
- Demonstrate recent, hands-on experience shipping LLM-powered products such as assistants, agents, or copilots to real users.
- Show a proven zero-to-one track record of taking at least one product from an ambiguous concept to a launched, measured reality.
- Have working fluency with the modern AI stack including prompting, evaluation frameworks, agentic patterns, memory, and tool use.
- Understand the cost of running AI in production, including model, context, and caching tradeoffs against a budget.
- Exhibit commercial and category instincts with experience launching novel products and defining positioning and willingness to pay.
- Demonstrate executive-grade communication skills and a rigorous approach to defining success metrics without existing benchmarks.
