Director of Engineering, Agentic AI and Architecture
About this role
CreatorIQ is building the operating system for creator-led growth, serving over 1,300 global brands and agencies. The company is focused on making businesses more human and humans more impactful, operating under values centered on intentionality and excellence. This role is critical in shaping the future of the platform by defining CreatorIQ’s Agentic AI architecture and advancing the overall technical architecture of the SaaS platform. The Director of Engineering, Agentic AI and Architecture will be responsible for determining how agentic capabilities are designed, evaluated, governed, and deployed into production.
This position involves defining the strategy for Agentic AI, designing complex architectural approaches for agent orchestration, multi-agent patterns, and retrieval-augmented generation. A key focus will be establishing reusable patterns and technical foundations to allow teams to safely and efficiently build AI-powered capabilities. The role also drives modernization efforts to improve platform consistency, scalability, and engineering velocity across the organization.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on individual contributor with deep expertise in designing and evolving complex, scalable SaaS platforms and distributed systems. They must possess the ability to translate high-level business priorities into durable architectural plans and then execute the necessary technical details. This role suits someone who thrives on setting technical standards, influencing engineering teams through guidance, and critically evaluating emerging AI technologies to ensure they are production-ready.
What you will do
- Define and evolve CreatorIQ’s architecture strategy across Agentic AI and the broader SaaS platform, aligning technical direction with product and business priorities.
- Design architectural approaches for agentic systems, including agent orchestration, multi-agent patterns, retrieval-augmented generation, evaluation frameworks, observability, guardrails, and production deployment.
- Create reference implementations that serve as general patterns for standardized implementation across the organization, covering areas like infrastructure and observability.
- Establish reusable patterns and technical foundations that enable teams to safely and efficiently build AI-powered and agentic product capabilities.
- Lead modernization and platform-unification efforts to reduce architectural complexity and improve scalability and resilience.
- Evaluate architectural approaches, models, tools, and infrastructure options based on criteria such as product needs, engineering quality, security, maintainability, and operational impact.
- Develop standards for testing, evaluating, monitoring, and governing AI and agentic systems to ensure reliability and adherence to responsible AI practices.
- Influence engineering teams through architecture reviews and technical guidance to promote the adoption of shared patterns.
What you need
- Demonstrated success in designing and evolving complex, scalable SaaS platforms and distributed systems is required.
- Deep expertise in software and systems architecture is necessary, including the capacity to transition between strategic architectural decisions and hands-on technical execution.
- Experience designing or delivering production AI systems, coupled with a strong understanding of agent architecture, orchestration, retrieval patterns, evaluation, observability, guardrails, and operational reliability is essential.
- Proven ability to lead major modernization, migration, refactoring, or platform-unification initiatives within complex technical environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud-native, event-driven, and service-oriented architectural patterns, along with sound judgment regarding standardization versus flexibility.
- The candidate must have the ability to critically evaluate emerging AI approaches and technologies to distinguish between viable production capabilities and unscaled experimentation.
- Experience influencing senior engineers, architects, and cross-functional partners without relying on formal authority is necessary.
