The Director of Business Development will be responsible for owning the entire AI developer business, which involves building a robust pipeline and generating revenue through strategic partnerships. This involves guiding developers through the AI TORCH framework, selling the clinical data platform directly, and managing the marketplace where developer models generate revenue through pharma projects. The role requires a strategic thinker who can navigate complex relationships within the medical and AI ecosystem.
This position is ideal for an ambitious commercial leader who thrives in an early-stage environment, is comfortable operating cross-functionally, and possesses the credibility to engage with both seed-stage startups and established medtech organizations. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building the operational infrastructure that converts individual deals into a compounding business.
What you will do
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to grow Dandelion's AI developer business across the AHA AI TORCH, direct training and validation partnerships, and the Clinical AI Marketplace.
- Build a strong pipeline of AI developers for the AHA AI TORCH and guide clients through the TORCH process, ensuring clarity, rigor, and satisfaction.
- Identify and engage with key decision-makers within AI development, medical device, and digital health organizations.
- Recruit, contract, and onboard AI developers into the Clinical AI Marketplace, structuring agreements that generate revenue for developers through Dandelion's pharma projects.
- Build strong, long-lasting relationships with developer clients by understanding their unique needs and offering tailored solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product, data, and engineering, to ensure a seamless customer experience and inform product and go-to-market strategies.
- Achieve and exceed sales targets through proactive outreach and strategic account management.
What you need
- The candidate must be an ambitious and experienced commercial leader capable of owning the entire AI developer business.
- Demonstrated experience in advanced sales skills, particularly in selling clinical data, AI validation, or data platform products is required.
- Must possess the credibility necessary to serve as a trusted counterpart to AI developers, ranging from seed-stage startups to established medtech.
- The individual needs the ability to identify potential issues, proactively map out solutions and scenarios, and clearly communicate plans to all organizational levels.
- Experience working in the clinical AI or health tech space is beneficial given the focus of the company.
- The role requires a proactive approach to outreach and strategic account management to meet revenue targets.
