About this role
Netskope needs an engineering leader to solve the challenge of transforming billions of daily security signals into actionable insights using agentic AI solutions. The AI SecOps team builds intelligent agent platforms that help security professionals analyze enterprise behavior and pinpoint risks in real time.
This engineering director will guide a high-velocity, AI-native technical team that has already adopted AI-authored software lifecycles. Daily responsibilities include defining product roadmaps with the product team, mentoring engineers, and interacting directly with customers to shape feature priorities. Ideal candidates combine deep technical expertise in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence with a proven track record of inspiring globally distributed engineering teams.
What you will do
- Guide senior architects and mentor junior engineers to make strong architecture and design decisions that utilize the latest AI breakthroughs.
- Collaborate with the product team to promote engineering innovation and make strategic decisions on prioritizing feature delivery and timelines.
- Provide hands-on coaching and continuous development of engineers to maximize their potential and help them grow in their careers.
- Participate in discussions with customers to help shape decisions from both an engineering and product perspective.
- Master the rapidly evolving AI landscape and distill complex research into actionable strategies that enable the team to pivot and adopt new paradigms.
- Drive execution across globally distributed teams while maintaining high energy and high velocity.
What you need
- Bring 15 or more years of software engineering experience along with 8 or more years leading engineering teams.
- Possess at least 4 years of specific work experience in cybersecurity.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of artificial intelligence and agentic technologies.
- Show direct experience coding using AI agents and leadership experience guiding teams to use AI agents for research and development.
- Have hands-on experience developing software in the cloud using AWS, GCP, and Azure.
- Hold a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or an equivalent degree, with a Master of Science strongly preferred.

What is the salary range for this position?
The national salary range for this position is $154,000 to $312,500 USD. The starting pay is determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, location, and market conditions.
What kind of experience is required for this role?
Candidates must have 15+ years of software engineering experience, 8+ years leading engineering teams, and 4+ years in cybersecurity. A BSCS or equivalent is required, with an MS in CS strongly preferred.
