Role Overview

The Director of AI Content Strategy will lead the development and execution of cutting-edge, AI-powered content frameworks. This position acts as a primary subject matter expert and trusted advisor to senior clients while steering internal multidisciplinary teams. The professional in this role will define governance structures, shape editorial guidelines, and build actionable roadmaps that maximize content value across channels.

Key Responsibilities

Drive content governance, thorough audits, workflow design, and comprehensive lifecycle management.
Establish and evolve information architecture, content models, taxonomy structures, and metadata systems.
Develop robust strategy frameworks including voice and tone guidelines, messaging standards, and systemized content patterns.
Collaborate closely with Experience Design, Product, and Engineering teams to scale content operations seamlessly.
Design conversational strategies for chat, voice, and next-generation agentic experiences, including dialogue flows and error pathways.
Apply a deep understanding of LLM behavior, prompting techniques, context windows, and hallucination risks.
Create AI content pipelines incorporating training data readiness and human-in-the-loop review frameworks.
Manage senior client relationships and partner with pitch teams to identify account growth opportunities.

Requirements

Twelve or more years of professional experience in content strategy, UX writing, content design, or related strategic roles within an agency, consulting, or client services environment.
Proven background working with enterprise-scale content systems, governance, and information architecture.
Demonstrated expertise in foundational content strategy areas including editorial direction, taxonomy, and multi-channel planning.
Strong knowledge of conversational design, dialogue mapping, LLM limitations, and conversational AI platforms.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage large-scale client engagements, and translate complex systems into clear narratives.
