WPP Media is seeking a DevOps Manager to build and operate cloud, deployment, security, and reliability foundations for AI, data, and marketing technology platforms in Wuxi, China. Role Overview

The DevOps Manager will establish secure, automated, scalable, and observable environments to support enterprise applications, data services, and high-volume AI workloads. Sitting at the intersection of engineering, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and production operations, this position requires navigating the specific technical challenges of operating technology within China while aligning with global architectural standards.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, implementation, and operation of cloud infrastructure supporting technology platforms in China.
Build secure environments for applications, APIs, data workloads, AI models, and agentic workflows.
Support deployments across AWS China and local cloud environments, managing differences in service availability, billing, accounts, and compliance.
Build and operate containerised application environments using Docker.
Design, deploy, secure, and manage Kubernetes clusters for production workloads, establishing standards for container images, networking, and scaling.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines incorporating infrastructure as code, automated testing, and security checks.
Build and operate infrastructure supporting multimodal and agentic AI workloads, managing model access, routing, and scaling.
Establish monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, disaster recovery, and incident management standards.
Embed security through identity and access management, encryption, network controls, and vulnerability management while supporting China cybersecurity and data-residency requirements.
Improve developer experience through self-service tooling, documentation, and operational runbooks.
Monitor and optimise cloud, network, model, token, and processing costs.

Requirements

Five plus years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or cloud infrastructure.
Strong hands-on experience with AWS China, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Experience building CI/CD pipelines for applications, infrastructure, data, and AI workloads.
Knowledge of infrastructure as code, cloud networking, Linux, scripting, and configuration management.
Practical understanding of identity management, secrets management, security, and disaster recovery.
Familiarity with China cloud, network, cybersecurity, regulatory, and data-residency requirements.
Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Fluent Mandarin and strong professional English.

Nice to Have

Experience supporting AI, machine learning, data engineering, or high-compute workloads.
Experience working across global and China-based engineering environments.
Relevant AWS, Kubernetes, security, or DevOps certifications.
