DevOps Engineer, Radar
About this role
The Radar team at Anduril Industries is focused on developing state-of-the-art radar systems designed to address significant security challenges for U.S. and allied military forces. These systems are powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that creates a real-time, 3D command and control center by processing vast amounts of data streams. The team is responsible for the entire radar system development lifecycle, starting from the initial concept through to the production phase. They are committed to integrating autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology into military systems quickly.
This role centers on developing and maintaining the test and release infrastructure for the radar software portfolio. The engineer will work closely with an interdisciplinary technical team to establish testing strategies and construct automated validation infrastructure. Key activities involve testing against actual radar hardware, developing hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop environments, and maturing prototypes into reliable products.
This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives at the intersection of software quality assurance and hardware interaction. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in reducing manual validation efforts, accelerating feedback loops, and ensuring that releases are repeatable, traceable, and auditable. Individuals with strong analytical skills who enjoy building robust automation pipelines and collaborating across engineering disciplines will find this opportunity suitable.
What you will do
- Develop and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, and scripts for radar software and firmware, covering functional, regression, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
- Identify, document, and track software and firmware defects, collaborating with developers to reproduce issues, debug root causes, and verify implemented fixes.
- Support the design and construction of software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure, including test rigs, emulators, and harnesses that validate software against hardware and simulated environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to execute automated test suites, ensuring fast and actionable feedback across the radar product portfolio.
- Develop tooling to reliably collect, catalog, retain, retrieve, and replay radar test data to ensure reproducibility across programs and field events.
- Support repeatable deployment processes for firmware and software updates to lab hardware, test benches, and fielded units.
- Build release-assurance workflows to collect test evidence, generate release notes, software bills of materials, and maintain traceability between code, tests, and deployed software.
What you need
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
- Candidates must possess at least three years of experience in software quality assurance, software test engineering, or software development infrastructure.
- Experience developing automated tests at the unit, integration, or system level is essential for this role.
- Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting is a mandatory skill.
- Working proficiency in C++ is necessary to effectively instrument and debug production software.
- Experience utilizing Git and CI/CD tooling is required for pipeline management.
- Familiarity with bug-tracking systems such as Jira is necessary for defect management.
- Experience testing and debugging software within Linux environments is a required qualification.
Nice to have
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing environments
