As Counsel for Telecommunications on the Starlink initiative, the incoming lawyer will help the business navigate complex legal frameworks across Europe and Africa. Responsibilities include advising on broadband regulations, evaluating legal risks, and interfacing with governmental agencies to support licensing and compliance.

What you will do
- Provide guidance to the Starlink group regarding applicable policies, laws, and regulations governing telecommunications and internet services across Europe and parts of Africa.
- Evaluate regulatory and legal risks, sharing findings with technical and business teams to facilitate sound compliance strategies and telecommunications licensing.
- Track ongoing legal and policy changes that affect the operations of the Starlink business.
- Engage periodically with governmental agencies regarding regulatory, consumer protection, and law enforcement issues.
What you need
- Bring at least 5 years of professional experience handling regulatory compliance matters within the telecommunications industry, specifically focused on satellite or broadband services.
- Hold a Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Laws, or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
- Maintain an active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Work onsite in London, England, with no remote or hybrid options available.
- Commit to working extended hours and weekends as business needs require.
Nice to have
- Fluency in French and/or Portuguese
- Knowledge of telecommunications business and regulatory issues outside of the U.S.
- Prior experience managing legal issues for a high-growth multinational company
