Role Overview

Johannesburg – UpGuard seeks a Content Writer to create SEO-focused cybersecurity material for its Growth Squad. The role suits writers with three or more years of B2B SaaS or security content experience.

Key Responsibilities

Produce original articles, comparison pages, and competitor analyses that directly answer prospect and customer queries.
Simplify complex cybersecurity and risk concepts into clear, engaging copy.
Refresh existing website content to keep it accurate, current, and useful.
Publish and format pieces in the company CMS, adding headings, metadata, internal links, and alt-text for images.
Track content performance with the Growth Marketing team and apply insights to future work.
Maintain strict adherence to UpGuard’s brand Voice and Tone.

Requirements

Minimum three years of professional content writing, preferably in B2B SaaS or cybersecurity.
Portfolio demonstrating long-form articles, comparison pages, or other search-oriented content.
Strong grasp of SEO principles, including search intent, keyword strategy, content structure, internal linking, and metadata.
Hands-on experience uploading and formatting content in a website CMS.
Ability to translate technical or risk-management topics into clear, authoritative prose.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
Proven capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously with high independence.
Collaborative mindset for working with web, growth, and creative teams.

Nice to Have

Track record of creating content that generates measurable traffic and leads.
Background in cybersecurity, vendor risk, or third-party risk management.
Confidence using AI tools to assist the writing process.
