Role Overview

Snorkel AI is searching for a Communications Manager to oversee the company public relations plan, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Integrated Marketing. This professional will operate independently as a hands-on practitioner, mining research, benchmark results, customer successes, and executive perspectives to secure media coverage. The individual will collaborate across departments including research, product marketing, and content to transform intricate technical concepts into compelling market narratives.

Key Responsibilities

Take full ownership of the communications strategy, managing the calendar, priorities, and results for press, podcasts, awards, and organic speaking opportunities.
Identify compelling angles within company research, benchmark outcomes, and customer wins that appeal to reporters, podcast hosts, and event judges.
Pitch stories directly to secure mainstream and tier-1 trade coverage, podcast appearances, and speaking slots without relying on an external agency.
Collaborate with research and product marketing teams to bundle insights into coordinated releases, bylines, data cuts, social media assets, and podcast talk tracks.
Manage the awards pipeline, award submissions, and the organic speaking proposal calendar.

Requirements

Bring a minimum of five years of professional experience in communications, public relations, journalism, or content creation, gained either in-house or at an agency.
Provide a portfolio demonstrating previously placed and published work.
Display exceptional writing capabilities, including the ability to produce publication-ready bylines in an executive voice alongside effective short pitches.
Maintain working fluency in artificial intelligence and B2B technical topics with the capacity to learn quickly from engineers and researchers.
Possess sound judgment in balancing corporate objectives with genuine newsworthiness.
Hold existing relationships—or demonstrate the ability to quickly form them—with business and technology media, influential podcasts, and technical influencers.
Demonstrate comfort with being evaluated on results and maintain a habit of tracking and reporting metrics.

Nice to Have

Prior experience working with frontier labs, developer tools, data and machine learning infrastructure, or enterprise artificial intelligence companies.
Background as a former reporter or editor.
Experience managing awards programs and conference call for papers submissions.
Familiarity with using artificial intelligence tools to augment research, drafting, and media monitoring.
