About this role

Professionals who thrive at the intersection of public policy and technical execution will find a natural home in this position at Anthropic. As part of the International Policy Applied AI team, staff members operate as trusted technical advisors to governments, AI Safety Institutes, and multilateral institutions. The group focuses on helping external partners understand frontier artificial intelligence, test capabilities, and apply models to public missions with a high standard of safety.

Daily responsibilities involve collaborating closely with internal policy, product, research, and engineering departments to guide partner adoption. Practitioners build prototypes, evaluation suites, and technical onboarding programs that demonstrate how Claude supports objectives like cyber defense. Success in the role requires strong communication skills to bridge technical concepts for diverse audiences, alongside an ability to navigate ambiguity and travel internationally for stakeholder meetings.

What you will do

  • Partner closely with the internal policy team to understand individual partner goals and requirements.
  • Develop demos, pilots, prototypes, and evaluation suites that show how Claude can support public missions such as cyber defense.
  • Lead technical onboarding, enablement, and hands-on workshops for partner institutions including national cybersecurity agencies.
  • Guide the setup, architecture, and integration of external partners as they build with Claude Code and the Claude API.
  • Act as the voice of international partners to ensure product and research teams deliver needed capabilities.
  • Travel internationally to partner institutions for senior leader meetings, technical enablement, and relationship building.

What you need

  • Bring four or more years of experience as a customer engineer, forward deployed engineer, sales engineer, solutions architect, or cybersecurity engineer working with governments or the public sector.
  • Demonstrate experience in technology policy, artificial intelligence safety, cybersecurity, or international affairs.

  • Possess strong technical aptitude, including proficiency in at least one programming language with a preference for Python.
  • Understand large language model fundamentals and how artificial intelligence models are evaluated and tested for safety.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to convey complicated topics to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
