Role Overview

The AI Security Engineer works on the Platform Security team to defend Plaid against attackers as artificial intelligence expands the technological attack surface. This position takes charge of reviewing new AI technologies, identifying risks, and establishing necessary guardrails and identity controls in Seattle.

Key Responsibilities

Review AI systems and integrations for security risks prior to and following deployment.
Design and deploy sandboxes, guardrails, and additional controls to contain AI agent capabilities.
Build or implement mechanisms to track and manage AI identities and access permissions.
Detect and mitigate prompt injection across the artificial intelligence surface area.
Conduct AI-focused security reviews and establish organizational standards.

Requirements

Three to six years of professional experience.
Hands-on background in securing artificial intelligence technologies.
Practical knowledge in deploying guardrails or sandboxes.
Experience managing AI identities.
Background in detecting or mitigating prompt injection.
Ability to run AI security reviews or implement security tooling.

Nice to Have

Background at a frontier AI lab or defending production AI systems at scale.
Experience on Infrastructure Security, Cloud Security, Platform Security, Corporate Security, SecOps, or Detection and Response teams.
Software security review, SDLC, vulnerability discovery, or offensive security experience.
