The AI Platform Engineer position at OnePay is a full-time, remote opportunity based in the United States, offering a salary between $150,000 and $190,000 per year. This role is well-suited for a driven technologist with extensive software engineering experience who wants to turn AI strategy into production-ready systems.

Key Responsibilities

Build and deploy production-grade AI agents and automation workflows utilizing tools like Cursor and Claude Code to solve important business problems.
Conduct structured discovery sessions with business stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts to gather requirements, check feasibility, and create technical specifications.
Design and secure integrations between the core SaaS stack and custom AI services with strict compliance, monitoring, and PII handling.
Educate internal teams and establish reusable playbooks and documentation so colleagues can maintain and extend the created solutions.

Requirements

Bring at least 5 years of professional engineering background writing clean, maintainable, and tested production code.
Demonstrate hands-on experience using modern AI tooling, including LLM APIs, agent frameworks like LangGraph and Claude SDK, developer tools such as Cursor and Claude Code, MCP server development, and evaluation methods.
Possess practical systems integration skills, featuring knowledge of REST APIs, SQL data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP.
Maintain a proactive product mindset with the ability to identify friction points, communicate trade-offs, and collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Node and TypeScript on the server, NestJS frameworks, microservices on Kubernetes, and React Native for client platforms.

Skills and Tools

SQL, AWS, GCP, Kubernetes, React, TypeScript, and LLM technologies.
