Role Overview
OPSWAT seeks an AI Engineer, Employee Products for a full-time position located in Timișoara, Timiș, Romania. This is an architect-and-build role focused on engineering artificial intelligence systems that transform internal employee support for a global workforce across multiple countries. The professional joins the Enterprise Products team, collaborating with People leadership and reporting to the Head of Enterprise Applications & Digital Transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Ship an agentic HR service agent that resolves employee inquiries using policies, knowledge bases, and case history, while routing complex cases to advisors.
Architect governed and integrated datasets across HRIS, ATS, LMS, identity, compensation, payroll, EOR, and FP&A systems to serve as a trusted data source.
Build natural-language querying, attrition and retention modeling, headcount forecasting, recruiting funnel analytics, and compensation insights.
Automate high-volume workflows spanning onboarding, offboarding, internal moves, document generation, and approvals with IT, Legal, and Finance.
Construct artificial intelligence tools utilizing LLMs, RAG, and semantic search to generate, maintain, and improve self-service content.
Integrate role-based access, audit trails, data minimization, and human-in-the-loop controls to meet SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and EU AI Act standards.
Requirements
Possess four to eight years of professional background in software, data, or AI/ML engineering with experience deploying production artificial intelligence systems.
Demonstrate fluency in Python along with practical work involving LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, vector databases, and agentic frameworks.
Show experience constructing and maintaining API integrations and data pipelines between SaaS business systems.
Exhibit the ability to design scalable, secure, production-grade systems, handle sensitive data with discipline, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Maintain willingness to travel internationally on occasion.
Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field, or possess equivalent practical experience.
Nice to Have
Experience building on human resources platforms such as BambooHR, Greenhouse, Workday, ADP, Deel, or Rippling.
Background in people analytics covering attrition, headcount planning, recruiting metrics, or compensation analysis.
Working knowledge of EU AI Act obligations, GDPR, or SOC 2 and ISO 27001 controls.
Familiarity with identity and access platforms like Okta and provisioning workflows.
Prior integration of artificial intelligence into enterprise workflows within regulated or security-first environments.
Experience in cybersecurity or a multinational organization featuring distributed legal entities.
