Granola is seeking a full-time AI Engineer to join its tech team in London. This on-site position suits an ambitious builder with product-focused engineering experience who wants to create advanced language model applications.

Role Overview

Granola is looking for a self-starting engineer to apply the newest advancements in large language models to build user-centric products. Operating from the bright and spacious London office near Old Street, the professional in this role will function as an integral part of the founding team. Candidates will interact directly with users, understand their needs, and rapidly develop features designed to scale the organization toward its next growth milestone.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end development and implementation of features powered by large language models.
Build and maintain evaluation frameworks specifically for prompt iteration and semantic retrieval.
Optimize vector stores and embeddings to ensure high performance and scalability.
Engage directly with users to diagnose problems and design appropriate solutions.
Monitor and research the latest trends and applied practices within artificial intelligence.
Partner with cross-functional colleagues across engineering, product management, and design to deliver a cutting-edge offering.

Requirements

Professional engineering background gained at product-driven technology companies.
Demonstrated experience shipping multi-provider artificial intelligence solutions to a production environment using technology from providers like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google.
Proficiency utilizing infrastructure platforms focused on prompts, logging, tracing, and evaluations.
Experience designing large-context systems utilizing retrieval-augmented generation, knowledge graphs, hybrid search, and memory.
Capability to build features end-to-end utilizing TypeScript, React.js, and Node.js.
Desire to work in person from the London office five days per week.
