Role Overview

The UX Designer takes ownership of the primary application experience at ActAI. The professional designs end-to-end user journeys across mobile and web platforms, focusing on how individuals initiate tasks, monitor artificial intelligence operations, maintain system control, and handle recovery procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Manage user experience design for core application surfaces on iOS, Android, and web platforms.
Develop complete interaction flows for AI-assisted tasks from intent capture to completion, progress tracking, and error recovery.
Create methods for the app to display artificial intelligence activities, decisions, and required user confirmations.
Map and design various system states including loading, thinking, acting, waiting, completing, stalling, failing, and recovering.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and machine learning teams to translate requirements into design solutions.
Perform usability research to identify trust barriers, user uncertainty, and disengagement points.
Deliver wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs ready for engineering implementation.
Build upon the design system and shared user experience patterns for AI application surfaces.
Balance simple daily interactions with multi-step workflows within the same product.

Requirements

Professional background as a user experience designer working on consumer mobile or web applications.
Strong portfolio demonstrating prior design work.
Proficiency in user flow design, wireframing, and high-fidelity prototyping using Figma.
Competence in designing for asynchronous, non-deterministic, and context-dependent systems.
Understanding of user trust, control, feedback, and transparency in automated product experiences.
Background in conducting user research and applying findings to design choices.
Ability to operate within fast-moving teams handling evolving product scopes.
Capacity to balance consumer-friendly usability with complex system behaviors.
