Role Overview

Baseten is hiring a Technical Program Manager for their Infrastructure team in San Francisco, with remote flexibility available. This full-time position suits experienced professionals with a background in technical program management who excel at organizing complex, cross-cutting engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead large-scale infrastructure migrations from start to finish across multiple domains, managing risk, scope, and sequencing.
Establish lightweight and rigorous operating rhythms, including planning cadences, status reports, decision logs, and risk reviews.
Partner with engineering leaders to design team structures, ownership boundaries, and operational working models.
Track open items relentlessly, maintaining action registers and driving blockers to resolution.
Translate loosely defined goals into structured, sequenced plans featuring clear owners and measurable milestones.
Communicate clearly and effectively with both deeply technical teams and senior leadership through crisp status updates.

Requirements

Bring at least 3 years of technical program management experience focused on delivering large, cross-team infrastructure or platform programs.
Demonstrate past ownership of complex migrations or similar multi-domain initiatives from beginning to end.
Exhibit strong execution discipline with proven abilities to build tracking systems and maintain follow-through.
Maintain comfort operating across multiple infrastructure domains such as compute, storage, networking, and data.
Possess the ability to influence without authority, aligning cross-functional teams around shared commitments.
Display excellent written and verbal communication skills to make technical programs legible to diverse audiences.

Nice to Have

Experience designing team structures or operating models alongside engineering leadership.
Familiarity with AI models, their applications, and how they operate at the infrastructure layer.
Background or exposure in software engineering, site reliability engineering (SRE), or infrastructure operations.
Familiarity with program execution tooling at scale, including issue tracking, planning, and reporting systems.
