Role Overview

bjakcareer seeks a Technical Product Lead to manage a product vertical covering payments, remittance, insurance, wealth, and trading. The position operates remotely on a global scale, requiring collaboration across multiple countries and time zones using English as the primary working language. The candidate will guide the creation of systems that handle financial transactions while balancing regulatory compliance and artificial intelligence utility.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a product vertical completely from strategy, metrics, and roadmap creation to final delivery and launch.
Collaborate with engineering teams to shape technical designs concerning application programming interfaces, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability.
Balance trade-offs involving correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory demands, and user experience.
Integrate regulatory obligations into the product, covering customer identification, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy, and licensing.
Implement artificial intelligence features where appropriate, ensuring evaluation, safeguards, human oversight, and failure handling.
Navigate external dependencies including regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party partners during product shipping.
Coordinate engineering, design, compliance, operations, treasury, and finance departments around product choices and launch criteria.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of product management experience that includes managing complex technical products from strategy to production.
Technical foundation covering system architecture, application programming interfaces, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems.
Background collaborating closely with engineers to review, challenge, and contribute to technical designs.
Experience in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or other regulated and high-consequence sectors.
Product judgment capabilities for making trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational limitations.
Practical background building with large language models or artificial intelligence products, including evaluation and reliability testing.

Nice to Have

Background in engineering or highly technical product roles.
Experience launching zero-to-one financial technology or consumer products.
Experience designing evaluation frameworks for machine learning or large language model-powered solutions.
