Role Overview

BJAK is hiring a Technical Product Lead for AI Finance to own a product vertical completely, from strategy and technical design to delivery and launch. The position focuses on developing a financial superapp for Southeast Asia that handles payments, remittance, insurance, wealth, and trading. The role operates remotely on a global team that spans multiple countries and time zones, with English as the primary working language.

Key Responsibilities

Own a product vertical completely, covering strategy, metrics, roadmap, prioritization, and delivery.
Shape technical designs alongside engineering teams for APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability.
Balance trade-offs involving correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory demands, and user experience.
Integrate regulatory requirements into products, addressing KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy, and licensing.
Apply AI effectively by incorporating clear evaluations, safeguards, human oversight, and failure management.
Manage product rollouts around external dependencies like regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party partners.
Align cross-functional teams including engineering, design, compliance, operations, treasury, and finance.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of product management experience, including end-to-end ownership of complex technical products.
Strong technical foundation covering system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems.
Demonstrated capability to collaborate with engineers and contribute directly to technical designs.
Background in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or related regulated and high-consequence domains.
Sound product judgment to handle difficult trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational constraints.
Experience building products with LLMs or AI, including evaluation, reliability, and appropriate scoping.

Nice to Have

Background in engineering or highly technical product roles.
Experience building zero-to-one fintech or consumer products.
Experience defining evaluation frameworks for machine learning or LLM-driven products.
