Role Overview

The Technical Product Lead - AI Finance is responsible for directing a product vertical from initial strategy and metrics through technical delivery and production. The professional operates within a distributed international team to build financial applications across payments, remittance, insurance, wealth, and trading. The role requires balancing deterministic systems with AI implementations while adhering to regulatory constraints and third-party financial rails.

Key Responsibilities

Own a product vertical completely, covering strategy, metrics, roadmaps, prioritization, and delivery.
Collaborate with engineering teams to shape technical designs involving APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, security, and scalability.
Manage trade-offs between correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory needs, and user experience.
Integrate regulatory compliance into products, addressing KYC, transaction monitoring, privacy, and licensing.
Implement AI features with proper evaluation, safeguards, oversight, and failure management.
Navigate external dependencies such as regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party partners during product shipment.
Align cross-functional groups including Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance around product goals.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of product management experience with ownership of complex technical products from strategy to production.
Solid technical foundation spanning system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, and distributed systems.
Practical background working alongside engineers to challenge and contribute to technical designs.
Background in regulated financial sectors like payments, banking, remittance, insurance, or trading.
Sound product judgment for navigating technical, regulatory, and operational trade-offs.
Experience developing products utilizing LLMs or AI, featuring evaluation protocols and reliability measures.

Nice to Have

Background in engineering or highly technical product management.
History of building zero-to-one fintech or consumer applications.
Experience establishing evaluation frameworks for machine learning or large language model products.
