Role Overview

The Technical Product Lead - AI Finance takes charge of a product vertical from initial strategy and metrics to technical design, delivery, and public launch. Operating in Tokyo with a hybrid schedule requiring three days per week in the local office, the role focuses on balancing regulatory compliance, system reliability, and artificial intelligence integration within a financial superapp.

Key Responsibilities

Manage a product vertical completely, covering metrics, roadmaps, priorities, strategy, and final delivery.
Collaborate with engineering teams to shape technical designs concerning APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, security, and scalability.
Balance trade-offs involving correctness, cost, speed, reliability, regulatory demands, and user experience.
Integrate regulatory necessities such as transaction monitoring, privacy, licensing, limits, and KYC into the product.
Deploy artificial intelligence responsibly by establishing evaluation protocols, safeguards, and human oversight.
Coordinate diverse departments including engineering, design, compliance, operations, treasury, and finance.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of product management experience managing complex technical products from strategy to production.
Technical foundation covering system architecture, databases, APIs, distributed systems, and failure modes.
Experience collaborating with engineers to review and challenge technical designs.
Background in a regulated or high-consequence domain like banking, payments, remittance, insurance, or trading.
Experience developing products with large language models or artificial intelligence, emphasizing reliability and evaluation.
Strong English communication skills for working with global teams.
