Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and execute operational workflows that support model policy annotation and develop evaluations across diverse policy areas.
Support the design and iteration of labeling frameworks and annotation workflows that scale while keeping precision, accuracy, and inter-rater agreement high.
Coordinate trusted annotators, fostering a culture of consistency, sound judgment, and care when managing sensitive content and intricate edge cases.
Collaborate with policy leads to organize and surface insights related to policy gaps, classification ambiguities, and nuanced scenarios discovered during annotation.
Create and maintain comprehensive annotation playbooks, auditor guidance, and quality resources across multiple datasets and regulatory domains.
Analyze annotation data to pinpoint emerging trends, systemic labeling errors, and ways to enhance internal safety policies.
Engage with frontier AI labs and internal team members to assist with project scoping, issue resolution, and the delivery of model policy programs.

Requirements

Strong academic background as a recent graduate or upcoming graduate, ideally featuring internship or light work experience in trust and safety, policy enforcement, regulatory compliance, risk management, management consulting, government, or a related discipline.
Strong analytical abilities and first-principles problem-solving skills, paired with a comfort or aptitude for drawing insights from large datasets.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including proficiency in collaborating effectively with senior stakeholders and customers.
High ownership mindset paired with a reliable, detail-oriented approach to execution.
Natural curiosity and the capacity to rapidly learn technical artificial intelligence concepts and industry trends.
Note: This position involves exposure to sensitive or explicit material, such as violent, sexual, or otherwise disturbing content, as a necessary part of safety and policy evaluation responsibilities.

Nice to Have

SQL proficiency.
A STEM background or prior exposure to technical concepts like data, software, or AI.
Experience supporting policy enforcement or content-review workflows across large, distributed workforces.
Familiarity with high-severity policy harms, including violent activities, dangerous organizations or individuals, or sexual activities.
Experience developing evaluations specifically for harmful-content or policy-enforcement use cases.
