About this role

Deepgram is seeking a remote Strategic Account Executive for Federal Civilian agencies to build and scale a new book of business from the ground up. This unique builder role is ideal for an experienced sales professional who thrives on whitespace, understands federal government contracting, and possesses an AI-native operational mindset.

Role Overview

As a Strategic Account Executive focusing on Federal Civilian agencies at Deepgram, you will own the go-to-market strategy and execution for named civilian accounts. Reporting directly to the VP of Federal, you will define what a world-class AI-native federal seller represents. You will design and drive direct, partner-assisted, and channel-enabled sales motions, landing Deepgram inside real mission programs to generate measurable pipeline and closed revenue. This position requires an AI-first mindset where you actively experiment with advanced AI tools, agents, and automation to streamline your everyday workflow and scale your impact.

Key Responsibilities

Build and execute a named-account strategy for target Federal Civilian agencies, including mission mapping, account plans, and stakeholder engagement across program, technical, and contracting roles.
Prospect, qualify, and close direct opportunities with agency program offices, while co-selling with the Federal Partnerships team and named systems integrators.
Route and manage deals through GSA Schedule resellers to meet agency purchasing requirements.
Build a measurable, quota-carrying pipeline, instrumenting all pipeline stages in the CRM and owning quarterly and annual targets.
Navigate government contracting mechanics such as RFIs, RFPs, sole-source justifications, and GSA Schedule ordering as a standard part of the sales motion.
Partner with Sales and Applied Engineering to craft compliant, compelling responses to competitive opportunities.
Represent Deepgram externally at civilian-agency industry days, conferences, and customer events.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Federal Partnerships, Applied Engineering, and Legal to remove friction and accelerate revenue.

Requirements

Must be a U.S. citizen.
Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle sales experience, including at least 3 years directly selling enterprise SaaS or technology to Federal Civilian agencies.
A proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in complex, multi-stakeholder federal sales cycles.
Demonstrated experience building a federal territory or book of business from early stage or zero.
Strong command of civilian agency purchasing mechanisms, including program offices, contracting officers, GSA Schedule ordering, and BPAs/IDIQs.
Fluency with the broader federal AI and modernization landscape, such as customer experience mandates, FedRAMP, and contact-center ecosystems.
Hands-on AI-native operator experience using AI tools daily and building automations or workflows.
Excellent executive presence, analytical rigor, and a self-directed ownership mentality.

Nice to Have

Active security clearance, though the majority of Federal Civilian work does not require one.
Existing relationships with stakeholders inside at least two target civilian agencies or within the reseller ecosystem.
Direct experience closing a novel or first-of-kind deal at a civilian agency.
Background selling speech or voice AI, contact-center solutions, or developer-first API products.
Familiarity with government sales methodologies such as Shipley or Solution Selling.
Experience building internal AI tooling for sales or revenue workflows.
