In this role, approximately 70 percent of daily efforts will center on backend and distributed systems, while 20 to 30 percent will involve frontend tasks using React and TypeScript. Working closely with data scientists, product managers, and designers, the incoming engineer will solve complex data challenges, scale new products like incrementality offerings, and establish frameworks for AI-powered workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Architect the new incrementality product into a reliable, repeatable experimentation platform and own technical scaling decisions.
Set technical direction for near-real-time data ingestion and processing as operations shift beyond batch workflows.
Define patterns for AI-powered workflows that assist marketers in evaluating performance and turning insights into automated actions.
Lead engineering efforts on connection-state systems and the partner ecosystem covering data ingestion and exports.
Shape technical approaches across adjacent product areas, including role-based access control.
Multiply the team's impact through design reviews, mentorship, and raising the overall quality standard of shipped code.

Requirements

Bring eight or more years of professional experience designing and building distributed backend systems, microservices, APIs, and data processing systems using Python.
Demonstrate deep expertise in owning system architecture and navigating trade-offs that emerge at scale.
Show a proven track record of collaborating with product managers, designers, and data scientists to shape product development.
Possess startup experience or background in environments that demand broad technical breadth and strong problem-solving skills under ambiguity.
Exhibit a demonstrated ability to turn ambiguous product needs into sound technical architecture and production-ready solutions.
Demonstrate fluency in navigating complex datasets and interconnected tables to investigate issues and trace dependencies.
Maintain working frontend experience utilizing React and TypeScript.
Possess strong coding fundamentals alongside a generalist mindset to handle tasks across the backend, frontend, pipelines, and infrastructure.
