Role Overview

Operating within the Applied AI department, this full-time role focuses on owning systems and services that combine artificial intelligence with the NEO platform. The professional will construct platform APIs for training data, handle data validation, execute auto-captioning, and deploy inference at scale. Working alongside internal research and product engineering teams, the incumbent will optimize software stacks for cost, latency, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and ship production features for AI world models spanning data collection through inference.
Construct rigorous evaluation processes, data pipelines, and captioning APIs integrated into simulators and robot hardware.
Optimize systems to ensure high performance regarding latency, cost, and quality.
Collaborate closely with world model researchers, product engineers, and customers to deliver reliable, user-friendly systems.
Monitor new developments in artificial intelligence and provide actionable recommendations to research and platform teams.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience, featuring a meaningful portion dedicated to building and launching production-level ML or AI systems.
Strong programming abilities using Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript to create expandable, testable, and reliable software.
Practical, hands-on experience utilizing modern AI frameworks, machine learning technologies, and cloud deployment methods.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills necessary to lead independent projects.
Deep expertise in creating developer tooling, simulation platforms, or game engine infrastructure, alongside strong systems thinking for scalable content pipelines.

Nice to Have

Practical experience shipping artificial intelligence and machine learning systems at high scale.
Documented contributions to open-source AI or ML projects or relevant industry publications.
Prior domain experience working directly within the robotics sector.
