About this role

Architecting and deploying tools, automations, and AI-driven workflows forms the core of daily operations for the Marketplace Operations Lead at Databricks. This person will oversee partner onboarding, transaction approvals, catalog integrity, and deal desk support while scaling the operational engine behind the global Marketplace. Operating as a hands-on individual contributor with potential to build a team over time, the role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and sales to remove friction and guide go-to-market direction.

Enterprise AI adoption continues to accelerate, turning the company Marketplace into a vital platform for third-party innovation and commercialization of data assets, AI models, and applications. Success in this position requires a builder mentality, comfort running daily operations, and the technical capability to design custom internal automations. Candidates who thrive here possess deep operational experience in fast-paced technology environments and excel at cross-functional collaboration across multiple departments.

What you will do

  • Manage and scale end-to-end operational workflows covering partner eligibility, onboarding, transaction approvals, catalog health, and featured listing placements.
  • Monitor key integrity signals, establish quality controls, and provide support to the Deal Desk on complex commercial transactions.
  • Design and deploy custom tools, automations, and AI-assisted workflows using Python, low-code tools, workflow platforms, or agentic AI.
  • Drive customer and partner retention campaigns while maintaining operational cadences with product, engineering, sales, and field teams.
  • Partner closely on go-to-market efforts to support transaction pipeline growth and strategic partner deals.

What you need

  • Bring over eight years of operational leadership experience in business operations, product operations, technical program management, or scaling operational functions within a fast-paced technology company.
  • Demonstrate hands-on builder capability by designing and shipping automations or operational tools using Python, low-code or RPA platforms, workflow platforms, or modern AI and LLM tooling.
  • Show proven ownership of end-to-end operational processes, approval gates, and quality control systems rather than relying purely on analytical reporting.
  • Exhibit strong cross-functional leadership skills with a history of aligning priorities across product, engineering, sales, and field organizations.
  • Possess direct operational experience with enterprise software marketplaces, two-sided platform ecosystems, or cloud commerce environments.

Nice to have

  • Experience scaling a marketplace, platform, or commerce operation through a high-growth phase
  • Familiarity with software commercial structures, Deal Desk operations, or strategic partner GTM programs
  • Experience quickly adopting next-generation AI coding tools such as Claude Code and AI agents to streamline productivity
