Role Overview

Crusoe seeks an ambitious and hands-on professional to join the Network Operations team in Dublin. The individual in this position will implement and operate global edge, backbone, and data center networks supporting GPU-powered high-performance compute clusters. Responsibilities include providing round-the-clock monitoring, handling incident response, and guaranteeing high availability of network services for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor network performance, execute advanced troubleshooting, conduct root cause analysis, and lead post-mortem reviews.
Implement network changes across edge, backbone, and data center infrastructure to scale capacity and improve reliability.
Balance immediate requirements with long-term goals for frontend, backend, backbone, edge, and public cloud connectivity.
Partner with cross-functional departments to ensure network infrastructure satisfies business requirements.
Spearhead operational excellence programs by creating monitoring and alerting systems to maximize network availability.
Guide and mentor network engineers while establishing best practices for documentation, readiness, and incident management.
Oversee vendor relationships and contracts for network equipment and services.
Deliver detailed metrics, performance analysis, and event statistics to maintain network health visibility.
Participate in a twenty-four-seven on-call rotation for network support.

Requirements

Ten or more years of relevant professional experience operating large-scale production environments.
Deep familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, QoS, EVPN, VXLAN, and MPLS technologies like LDP and RSVP-TE.
Understanding of network monitoring protocols and tools including SNMP, IPFIX, Sflow/Netflow, and Telemetry.
Background in edge, backbone, and data center architecture.
Proficiency in programming or scripting languages like Python to build tooling and automate operational tasks.
Practical experience utilizing network devices from vendors such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and Mellanox.
Familiarity with commercial router and switch chipsets including Broadcom and Barefoot.
Knowledge of public cloud connectivity choices for platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure, and others.
Competence in IPv6 and IPv4-IPv6 coexistence strategies.
Experience with network observability, packet design, flow analytics, and dashboarding platforms such as Grafana, Kentik, and ThousandEyes.
Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent alternative experience.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with backend technologies including RoCE, Infiniband, or Spectrum-X.
