Grafana Labs is hiring a remote Staff Field Engineer based in Sweden to support strategic customer engagements and empower the presales solution engineering team. Role Overview

As a Staff Field Engineer, the individual operates within the top 20% of the field team with minimal supervision on the company's most strategic customer engagements. The role bridges technical subject matter expertise with sales enablement, maintaining backend systems, building reference architectures, and creating scalable technical training content. The engineer acts as a key influencer in product direction and serves as a mentor to senior team members and solution engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Advise on and support complex technical challenges for Grafana's most strategic deals and customer engagements without supervision.
Serve as a recognized subject matter expert in one area of the Grafana Platform while maintaining deep knowledge across multiple observability technologies.
Own the end-to-end creation and curation of technical training content, including workshops, how-to guides, and demo scripts.
Architect, engineer, and maintain a live production environment supporting demo, workshop, and proof of value infrastructure at scale.
Represent field engineering in product planning cycles to surface enablement gaps and shape investment priorities.
Present at strategic marketing events, webinars, conferences, and deliver best practices directly to customers.
Mentor senior and staff solution engineers and field engineers.

Requirements

Minimum of 8+ years of related technical experience, including 2+ years in a Senior Field Engineer role, SRE, Developer, Architect, or presales Solution Architect position.
Excellent understanding of Grafana and associated technologies with recognized subject matter expert depth in at least one platform area.
Deep working knowledge across multiple technologies in the observability space such as Loki, Prometheus, Tempo, Elastic, Splunk, or Datadog.
Expert-level knowledge in at least one adjacent domain like IoT or AI/ML beyond the core observability stack.
Comfortable with at least one modern programming language and strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
Working familiarity with Linux, common tools, and practical experience using AI tools to accelerate day-to-day tasks.
Ability to architect modern applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP using infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and microservices.

Salary and Benefits

The OTE compensation range for this role in Sweden is 1,098,000 SEK to 1,320,000 SEK, with actual compensation varying based on level, experience, and skillset.
Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) provided for company ownership and shared outcomes.
Global annual leave policy of 30 days per annum, which includes 3 reserved Grafana Shutdown Days.
