Trulioo is hiring a Staff Engineer or Architect for the Agentic AI Team in Vancouver, BC or remotely within North America. This full-time role suits an experienced software engineer skilled in building and owning end-to-end agentic systems within a regulated domain.

Role Overview

Trulioo seeks a Staff Engineer or Architect for the Agentic AI Team on a full-time basis. The position reports to the Director of Software Engineering and operates either as a hybrid role based out of the Vancouver office with a requirement to work three days per week on-site, or as a remote position within North America.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and own agent systems end-to-end from design through production for identity, fraud, risk, and commerce workflows.
Build reliable, steerable, multi-step agent workflows that plan, execute, observe outcomes, and iteratively improve.
Troubleshoot novel, non-deterministic failures across models, tools, orchestration, and infrastructure.
Work in a compliance-heavy, globally regulated domain where auditability, correctness, and human oversight are required.
Set and communicate a technical vision to teammates and to the agents directed in daily work.
Leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and ensure secure and compliant use of AI tools.

Requirements

8+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated impact on production systems.
Fluency using AI agents in an engineering workflow with a maintained mental model, verification of outputs, and personal accountability.
Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end and communicate trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working on challenging, novel, or ambiguous projects requiring problem definition.
Hands-on experience building with LLMs including prompt engineering, RAG, tool use, at least one agent framework like LangGraph, CrewAI, or AutoGen, and evaluation frameworks for agent behavior.

Nice to Have

Experience in financial services, identity, fraud, risk domains, or other compliance-heavy environments.
Multi-agent orchestration patterns and production-grade evaluation harnesses.
AI observability tooling and MLOps practices.
Vector databases, knowledge graphs, or structured retrieval for agent memory.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range is CA$175K to CA$205K, accompanied by offers of equity and a bonus.
