Operating within the data team, the professional in this role collaborates with product managers, engineers, and designers to build visualizations, measure product changes, and uncover usage patterns.

Key Responsibilities

Own ambiguous, high-impact problem spaces across product and business domains from framing to implementation with cross-functional partners.
Partner with leadership and stakeholders to shape product strategy and anticipate future challenges.
Design and evaluate experiments to measure the impact of product and strategic changes.
Analyze product data to uncover the root causes of metric movements.
Develop tools, methodologies, and frameworks to improve data practices across the company.
Multiply the impact of other data scientists through mentorship and industry best practices.

Requirements

Availability for meetings and impromptu communication during coordination hours from Monday through Friday between 9 am and 3 pm Pacific Time.
7+ years of work experience in an analytical or quantitative role, including 5+ years as a Data Scientist or similar title at a senior or staff level.
Demonstrated ability to tackle difficult data questions requiring deep product ownership or cross-functional leadership.
Expertise with statistical techniques such as regression, hypothesis testing, and causal inference.
Experience mentoring data scientists and raising team standards through best practices.
Effective communication skills to translate business needs into analytical questions for executives.
Extensive experience using Python or R for data manipulation, modeling, and analysis alongside comfort in a production codebase.
Strong judgment blending quantitative rigor with product intuition.

Nice to Have

2+ years of experience evaluating recommender systems in offline analysis and online experiments.
Experience setting technical direction or strategy for a team or major workstream.
Experience with large data sets and distributed computing tools like Presto or Trino.
Active Quora user status with curiosity about the product.

US salary range of $163,560 to $240,092 USD plus equity and benefits.
Canada salary range in Toronto and Vancouver of $210,013 to $246,625 CAD plus equity and benefits, with other Canadian locations ranging from $196,012 to $230,183 CAD.
