Role Overview

The Ads Data Science team at Reddit requires a senior specialist to take ownership of measurement, identity, and signal quality within the advertising ecosystem. The person in this position will shape strategic direction, set technical standards, and lead cross-functional projects across critical focus areas.

Key Responsibilities

Design probabilistic models for identity resolution and methodology linking on-platform and off-platform actions while prioritizing privacy.
Own the statistical rigor behind Brand and Conversion Lift products, innovating experimental design and infrastructure for large-scale testing.
Define strategies for new signal sources, mathematically quantifying their value and working with modeling teams to improve bidding efficiency and return on ad spend.
Create objective functions and truth sets to validate identity, measure incremental impact, and train models.
Partner with engineering, product, and sales teams to align on strategy, mentor peers, and champion technical best practices.

Requirements

Hold an advanced degree such as a Master's or Ph.D. in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research.
Master's degree holders must have at least 10 years of industry experience in applied science or data science, while Ph.D. holders need at least 6 years of industry experience.
Possess a deep understanding of the ads ecosystem alongside demonstrated expertise in measurement, identity graph creation, or predictive modeling.
Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills for thriving in fast-paced environments.

Skills and Tools

Advanced proficiency in statistical programming using Python or R
Extensive query writing and data manipulation using SQL
Machine learning and optimization techniques
Experimental design, causal inference, and A/B testing methodologies
