Role Overview

Reddit is hiring a Staff Data Scientist to take deep ownership of high-impact problem spaces within the advertising organization, specializing in measurement, identity, and signal quality. The professional will work closely with product, engineering, and sales teams to translate complex insights into actionable results.

Key Responsibilities

Design probabilistic models for identity resolution and create methodologies linking on-platform and off-platform actions while honoring privacy.
Own the statistical rigor behind Brand and Conversion Lift products by innovating experimental design and building large-scale testing infrastructure.
Define strategies for new signal sources, mathematically quantifying their value and integrating them with modeling teams to improve bidding efficiency.
Solve industry challenges regarding identity and measurement validation by designing objective functions and truth sets for training models.
Lead cross-functional initiatives through technical influence, mentoring colleagues, and championing modeling best practices.

Requirements

Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research.
10+ years of industry experience for Master's holders, or 6+ years for Ph.D. holders, in applied science or data science roles.
Deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem.
Demonstrated expertise in scale measurement and experimentation, identity graph creation, or predictive modeling with signal loss.
Strong expertise in experimental design, causal inference, and A/B testing methodologies.
Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills with a history of cross-functional collaboration in ambiguous environments.
