About this role

Scaling physical infrastructure to support next-generation, high-density compute workloads requires robust architectural and technical standards across a rapidly expanding global data center portfolio. CoreWeave addresses this challenge by hiring a Senior White Space Design Engineer to govern the entire design lifecycle from early site feasibility to final technology fit-out. Operating as a senior individual contributor within the Data Center Design team, the incoming engineer develops layouts, performs detailed technical reviews of power and cooling systems, and resolves complex multidisciplinary coordination issues. Ideal candidates bring extensive background in mission-critical infrastructure, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate effectively across construction, operations, and network engineering groups.

What you will do

  • Develop and review white space layouts, infrastructure designs, specifications, details, and engineering documentation.
  • Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the company basis of design, technical standards, and reference designs.
  • Perform detailed technical reviews of high-density power distribution, liquid- and air-cooling systems, equipment layouts, containment systems, and low-voltage pathways.
  • Review construction drawings, shop drawings, equipment submittals, RFIs, design changes, and field conditions for compliance with project requirements.
  • Provide technical direction and oversight to third-party design consultants to ensure deliverables meet project needs and applicable codes.
  • Support projects during construction, commissioning, and deployment by answering technical questions and resolving field-related design issues.

What you need

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electrical, Network, Low Voltage/Cabling, or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in data center design, mission-critical infrastructure engineering, or white space design leadership.
  • Direct experience with white space infrastructure systems including PDUs, RPPs, busways, branch circuits, hot aisle containment, remote CDUs, fan walls, and high-density cooling.
  • Experience working as a consulting engineer, design consultant, or owner's representative overseeing third-party design consultants.
  • Documented knowledge of low-voltage infrastructure systems including structured cabling, ladder racks, cable trays, and overhead conveyance.
  • Hands-on proficiency with engineering and project management tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Asana, or SmarterSheet.
  • Working knowledge of data center design standards and industry guidelines including TIA-942, BICSI, ASHRAE, NFPA, and Uptime Institute.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD), or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience supporting hyperscale, High-Performance Computing (HPC), or high-density compute environments
  • Practical familiarity with capacity planning, scalability modeling, and design standardization

Benefits

  • Discretionary bonus
  • Equity awards
  • Comprehensive benefits program
