About this role

Large retail and consumer goods enterprises often struggle to unify complex data systems and accelerate machine learning adoption across major accounts. Databricks needs a Senior Solutions Architect to define technical strategies and drive product adoption within the travel and hospitality sector. Partnering with Account Executives, the incoming specialist will serve as the primary technical advisor for up to nine major clients, guiding their enterprise transformations from the ground up.

Candidates should combine strong business acumen with deep technical expertise in big data, cloud environments, and data science workflows. The role suits professionals who excel at value selling, technical account management, and cultivating technical champions within large organizations. While hands-on engineers build proofs of concept, this person will lead customer evaluations, mentor teammates, and align enterprise architectures with the company platform.

What you will do

  • Serve as the main technical voice for up to nine strategic client accounts.
  • Guide customers through evaluation and adoption phases of the platform strategy.
  • Collaborate with account executives to define and execute comprehensive technical strategies.
  • Build a network of technical champions within enterprise accounts.
  • Align customer technical goals with appropriate solutions and product offerings.
  • Provide structured mentorship and guidance to other team members.

What you need

  • Bring six or more years of experience working with very large accounts exceeding one million dollars in annual recurring revenue within retail and consumer goods spaces.
  • Possess at least four years of background in a pre-sales capacity or supporting sales activities.
  • Demonstrate technical proficiency in big data architectures, data science applications, and cloud platforms.
  • Show proven capability in driving data-driven business transformations and organizational change.
  • Accumulate three or more years of design and implementation experience with big data technologies or full lifecycle data science solutions.
  • Maintain production programming skills in Python, R, Scala, or Java.
