Role Overview

The Kernel Development and Optimization team creates high-performance, critical kernels that unleash the maximum capability of Tenstorrent hardware across high-performance computing and machine learning workloads. Professionals in this group take charge of performance optimization, solve intricate runtime challenges, and help build next-generation artificial intelligence compute solutions in Belgrade.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and optimize GPU-style kernels, including matrix multiplication, attention primitives, and data-movement operations.
Take full ownership of performance metrics, from spotting system bottlenecks to delivering quantifiable throughput gains.
Contribute directly to host-side orchestration code and various parallelization strategies.
Build micro-benchmarks, automated regression tests, and specialized tooling to guarantee correctness and ongoing performance improvements.
Coordinate closely with hardware, compiler, runtime, and machine learning teams to seamlessly integrate kernels into production environments.

Requirements

Strong background as a C++ systems engineer with practical experience writing low-level or performance-critical software.
Comfortable analyzing concurrency, latency hiding, synchronization, and compute versus memory trade-offs.
A data-driven working style that relies on benchmarking and profiling data to direct optimization paths.
Capable of debugging complicated kernel-level or runtime issues inside large codebases.
Structured analytical mindset able to transform ambiguous performance issues into testable, measurable experiments.
