Managing the complex flow of capital costs across a rapidly expanding data center build program requires a meticulous accounting professional who can maintain day-to-day financial accuracy amidst high growth. The Senior Project Accountant serves as the hands-on owner of capital activity records, ensuring every transaction moves correctly through construction in progress toward capitalization while building scalable processes on the fly.
Team members operate in a fast-paced environment where they run monthly closes while simultaneously establishing new accounting frameworks. What you will do
- Maintain daily records of capital spend by ensuring transactions are accurately coded to the correct project, phase, entity, and location.
- Prepare monthly open purchase order and construction accrual schedules alongside cost-to-complete views for each project.
- Build supporting analyses for in-service, capitalization, and useful life determinations to guide depreciation schedules.
- Perform period-end reconciliations of construction in progress and associated liability accounts while investigating outstanding items.
- Maintain process documentation and evidence to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley 404 requirements.
- Support internal and external audits by responding to information requests on a timely basis.
What you need
- Three or more years of accounting experience with a background in capital, construction, or fixed asset accounting.
- Demonstrated experience preparing accruals, reconciliations, and supporting schedules on a fixed close calendar.
- Working understanding of how capital costs accumulate in construction in progress and transfer to fixed assets.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and familiarity with operating in a Sarbanes-Oxley control environment.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to work accurately with large data sets.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with non-accounting teams and manage ERP systems.
- Work authorization that does not require sponsorship from the company now or in the future.

The base salary range for this role is $98,000 to $130,000. The starting salary will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and the market location.
