About this role
Guiding customers through the design and implementation of big data solutions forms the core of daily operations for this Specialist Solutions Architect position at Databricks in Seoul. Reporting to the Specialist Field Engineering Manager, the team focuses on supporting customer security teams through security reviews for data platform adoption and aligning technical roadmaps for expanding usage of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. Personnel in this function act as deep go-to experts, collaborating closely with Solution Architects on advanced technical sales aspects such as custom proof of concept content and architectural design.
Professional growth is prioritized through internal training programs, mentorship, and continuous skill consolidation in the security domain. Individuals who succeed in this capacity bring extensive client-facing experience alongside robust technical knowledge in cloud security and infrastructure. The role exists to ensure strategic customers achieve successful implementations on major big data projects while maintaining rigorous security standards.
What you will do
- Provide technical leadership to guide strategic customers through big data project implementations ranging from security design to deployment best practices.
- Architect security solutions and reference architectures that fulfill specific customer security requirements.
- Deliver technical expertise regarding cloud infrastructure and security associated with the Databricks Intelligence Platform.
- Support Solution Architects with advanced technical sales components including custom proof of concept content, security reviews, and custom architectures.
- Improve community adoption by delivering tutorials, training, hackathons, and conference presentations.
- Contribute to the Databricks Community while serving as a recognized technical subject matter expert.
What you need
- Bring at least 5 years of pre-sales or post-sales experience collaborating with external clients across diverse industry markets.
- Demonstrate experience in designing, building, and managing modern data governance for a modern data platform.
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience designing cloud infrastructure and services on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP with adherence to cloud security and networking best practices.
- Show hands-on experience utilizing cloud infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of development tools and engineering best practices including CI/CD, testing, automation, and orchestration.
- Possess native proficiency in Korean along with business-level English proficiency.
