About this role

Complex data and AI workloads often stall during evaluation, requiring rapid technical intervention to reach production readiness across strategic accounts in the Nordics and Benelux. Databricks needs a Solutions Architect to join the Fungible team, operating as a rapid-response unit that tackles high-potential customer opportunities and drives critical use cases to successful technical wins.

Working on time-boxed engagements lasting one to five months, this person will lead architectural conversations, design scalable production solutions across data engineering and machine learning, and prove platform differentiation in competitive scenarios. Candidates who thrive in ambiguity, possess strong technical breadth, and enjoy high-visibility customer engagements will find a natural home in this group.

What you will do

  • Parachute into strategic customer opportunities to own a clearly defined technical area and accelerate critical workloads from evaluation toward production.
  • Design scalable, production-grade solutions across data engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and real-time analytics.
  • Lead whiteboarding sessions, design reviews, and trade-off decisions with senior customer stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate platform differentiation through custom-built solutions in competitive, must-win scenarios.
  • Compress timelines and establish momentum quickly in ambiguous situations without cutting corners.
  • Package progress into clean transitions for core account teams and partners to ensure sustained post-engagement wins.

What you need

  • Bring several years of experience, typically around six or more, in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, data engineering, or a senior hands-on technical role.
  • Demonstrate hands-on coding ability in Python and SQL to build, debug, and demonstrate working solutions live.
  • Show depth in distributed data systems, production cloud deployments on AWS, Azure, or GCP, scalable pipelines, streaming, and lakehouse patterns.
  • Exhibit proficiency on the Databricks platform or display a demonstrated ability to ramp up on new technology quickly.
  • Possess experience leading architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders, trade-off analyses, and clear recommendations.
  • Display comfort with ambiguity, strong prioritisation skills, and a preference for time-boxed, high-impact work.

Nice to have

  • Databricks certifications including Data Engineer, ML, or Platform
  • Familiarity with competitive platforms such as Snowflake, AWS native services, and Azure Synapse
  • Background in a data and AI company or cloud provider
  • Depth in an industry vertical like Financial Services, Healthcare, Retail, or Media
