Role Overview

Databricks is hiring a Solutions Architect for digital native business named accounts located in the Northeast United States. The professional in this position leads the technical strategy for assigned customers, managing architecture discussions and driving platform adoption. The individual serves as a trusted advisor to customer technical leads and architects, combining technical expertise with strategic thinking to position Databricks as the foundation of customer data and artificial intelligence strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end technical strategy for assigned accounts from initial discovery through production deployment and consumption growth.
Direct architecture discussions to design scalable, production-grade solutions across data engineering, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and real-time analytics.
Act as a technical advisor to customer engineering leads, architects, and directors.
Secure technical wins in competitive environments by demonstrating platform differentiation through custom-built solutions.
Build and declare a technical specialization archetype to function as a domain resource for the team.
Coordinate cross-functional resources including specialist solution architects, data specialist architects, and partners.
Provide structured feedback regarding customer requirements and competitive gaps to influence product direction.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of professional background in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, data engineering, or a senior hands-on technical capacity.
Proficiency in coding using Python and SQL, including live coding, debugging, and solution-building capabilities.
Expertise in distributed data systems architecture, covering scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms.
Ability to lead architecture discussions with senior technical stakeholders involving whiteboarding, design reviews, and trade-off analysis.
Background in public cloud production deployments across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including security, infrastructure, and governance.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

Databricks certifications such as Data Engineer, Machine Learning, or Platform.
Background with competitive platforms like Snowflake, AWS native services, or Azure Synapse.
Previous experience within a cloud provider or a data and artificial intelligence company.
Domain expertise in specific industries, including healthcare data standards or pharmaceutical, biotech, contract research, and medical device sectors.
