About this role
The engineering team at Databricks builds a unified data and AI infrastructure platform used by over 20,000 organizations to run analytics, scale applications, and develop AI agents. Software Engineering Interns join this team to develop features that contribute directly to the core platform across full stack, backend, infrastructure, systems, and cloud domains. Interns manage their assigned projects from initial design through coding and feedback while learning how to build scalable, secure systems.
Participants join the 2027 intern cohort to collaborate with peers, engineers, and company leaders during the 12-week summer program. A dedicated mentor supports each intern throughout the tenure in the London office. Successful candidates are students graduating between fall 2027 and summer 2028 who enjoy tackling ambiguous technical challenges alongside a collaborative team.
What you will do
- Collaborate with an engineering team to develop new features for the Databricks platform.
- Manage independent software projects through the complete lifecycle from design to implementation and feedback integration.
- Build scalable platform components while keeping quality and security standards high.
- Engage with the 2027 intern cohort and connect with company leaders and fellow engineers.
What you need
- Graduation between fall 2027 and summer 2028 with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
- Practical implementation skills using a general purpose programming language such as Python, Java, or C++.
- Solid understanding of core algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Readiness to solve ambiguous problems within a collaborative team environment.

What is the duration and timing of the internship?
This is a Summer 12-week internship for students graduating between fall 2027 and summer 2028. Co-ops are only available to students enrolled in a co-op program.
