Role Overview

Crusoe is seeking a Software Engineer II for Managed Platform Services to design, build, and scale customer-facing cloud platforms and managed services in San Francisco, California. This full-time position suits an experienced developer with a background in distributed systems who wants to advance high-performance AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Build and scale foundational infrastructure services to manage critical resources within the cloud platform.
Create highly scalable, reliable, and user-friendly platform services.
Lead cross-functional projects with engineering, cloud support, site reliability, and product teams.
Implement differentiating features focused on operational efficiency, low-touch adoption, and scalability.
Own end-to-end development, maintenance, and modular refactoring of specific software modules and components.
Drive full lifecycle feature development from high-level business requirements to technical specifications.
Lead architectural designs for new features using advanced software design patterns.
Mitigate technical risks, automate manual processes, and improve monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning for production services.
Mentor newer teammates, onboard personnel, and act as a peer code reviewer.

Requirements

Three to five years of professional software development experience.
Programming proficiency in modern compiled languages such as Java, Rust, C++, or similar.
Proven ability to design and scale fault-tolerant distributed systems and managed cloud services.
Strong fundamentals in microservices and infrastructure tech like Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD systems.
Familiarity with observability principles, time-series databases, log aggregation, and distributed tracing.
Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Annual compensation ranging from $140,000 to $165,000, plus a bonus and Restricted Stock Units.
