Software Engineer, Full Stack - Experimentation Platform

Developers on this team build backends, SDKs, and the Decision Portal UI used across DoorDash for managing thousands of experiments annually. Engineers own features end-to-end, writing APIs, data models, and React interfaces while introducing AI-powered tools and handling advanced causal inference methodologies. Team members collaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and product teams to scale the experimentation platform.

What you will do
- Build and simplify the experimentation platform used across the organization, contributing to system design and product experience from the ground up.
- Own features from end to end, spanning APIs, data models, and React user interfaces in the Decision Portal.
- Collaborate with product engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and ML infrastructure teams to deliver intuitive workflows and data visualizations.
- Introduce modern technologies, including LLM-powered tools, into experiment configuration, launch, and readout processes.
- Evolve the platform to support new statistical methodologies, machine learning, and advanced causal inference techniques.
What you need
- Hold a B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or an equivalent field.
- Bring at least two years of industry experience building web applications end-to-end using TypeScript and React.
- Demonstrate exceptionally strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and object-oriented programming languages.
- Understand REST and gRPC principles with experience designing, implementing, and consuming backend APIs.
- Possess backend development experience using Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go, along with a solid grasp of database storage technologies.
- Show proficiency in using AI coding tools across the full software development lifecycle.
Nice to have
- Experience building internal tools, admin consoles, or developer platforms
- Prior experience with experiment configurations and feature flagging products
- Experience with big data technologies such as Postgres, Redis, Elasticsearch, Snowflake, or Spark
- Background in data science related subjects like analytics, statistics, or machine learning
- Familiarity with cloud-based environments such as AWS

What is the compensation range for this position?
The starting base pay falls within a range of $130,600 to $192,000 USD, localized according to work location. Additionally, compensation includes opportunities for equity grants.
