Role Overview

The organization is looking for a software engineer to develop the next generation of machine learning serving architecture. The position involves connecting request routing, online feature retrieval, and model inference on CPU and GPU hardware. The person in this role will handle infrastructure challenges related to scale, reliability, latency, and resource efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Build self-serve tools, APIs, and workflows that enable internal modelers to independently deploy, configure, validate, and operate models.
Integrate open source inference frameworks and models into reliable production services at scale.
Enhance systems responsible for routing prediction requests, retrieving online features, and executing models.
Develop modular components for disaggregated serving architecture to let routing, feature retrieval, and model execution scale independently.
Optimize Kubernetes deployments and autoscaling to manage traffic variations efficiently using CPU and GPU resources.
Create migration, integration, and validation tooling to simplify platform adoption.
Monitor production performance and reliability through profiling, benchmarking, metrics, and tracing, while participating in on-call rotations and operational improvements.

Requirements

Minimum of two years of software engineering experience in maintaining and building production infrastructure or services.
Strong computer science fundamentals with proficiency in at least one systems or backend programming language such as Python, Go, Java, Kotlin, or C++.
Understanding of distributed systems principles, covering networking, concurrency, failure handling, timeouts, and performance trade-offs.
Ability to transform a defined infrastructure problem into an independent technical design, tested implementation, and safe production rollout.
Experience debugging production systems and utilizing operational data to enhance cost, performance, or reliability.
Focus on platform user experience and collaborative engagement with partners and customers.
Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

Background in ML inference infrastructure, latency-sensitive distributed services, or online feature retrieval.
Experience running containerized workloads on Kubernetes, covering autoscaling, deployment, or resource management.
History of building internal developer platforms, automation, or APIs.
Experience integrating and validating open source models or infrastructure under production workloads.
Knowledge of inference runtimes, CPU or GPU performance profiling, or model deployment workflows.

Salary and Benefits

The starting base salary range is $130,600 to $192,000 USD, localized according to the work location. Additional compensation includes equity grants. The comprehensive benefits package features a 401(k) plan with employer matching, medical, dental, and vision insurance, 16 weeks of paid parental leave, wellness and commuter benefits, basic life and disability insurance, family-forming assistance, a mental health program, 11 paid holidays, and paid time off alongside sick leave.
