Role Overview

The Software Engineer - Enterprise Platform position at Baseten is a full-time role based in San Francisco with remote flexibility within the Engineering, Product, and Design department. This opportunity suits an experienced engineer eager to build the core building blocks, APIs, and user experiences that empower large organizations to deploy cutting-edge AI products.

Key Responsibilities

Drive complex and ambiguous engineering initiatives from the initial problem definition and technical design all the way through implementation, launch, and iteration.
Design architectural solutions that carefully balance immediate customer requirements against long-term maintainability, scalability, and simplicity.
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and customer-facing teams to transform real user feedback into durable technical solutions and product requirements.
Set and maintain rigorous engineering standards centered on software quality, security, operational ownership, and observability.
Deliver technical leadership and mentorship to support teammate development and elevate design and execution standards across the entire team.

Requirements

Background in developing enterprise software, featuring hands-on experience in areas such as identity and access management, billing systems, multi-tenant isolation controls, compliance program initiatives, or private connectivity.
Proven track record of leading technical projects, building and operating systems at scale, and working directly with customers to identify their requirements.
High comfort level working across the full technology stack, ranging from core product application code up to cloud and Kubernetes infrastructure.

Nice to Have

Prior background in designing and building AI or data-intensive infrastructure products.
