Role Overview

Baseten is hiring a Software Engineer to focus on continuous delivery as an early member of the Platform team within the Infrastructure organization. The position involves owning the deployment platform, release pipelines, and rollout safety mechanisms that empower engineers to ship changes rapidly while mitigating operational risk. The core mission centers on making production deployments fast, safe, and increasingly autonomous through streamlined workflows and shared tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Design and construct continuous deployment infrastructure that safely rolls out updates across numerous global regions and Kubernetes clusters.
Create systems for progressive delivery, encompassing canary releases, staged rollouts, and automated rollback processes.
Boost engineering velocity by removing friction in the release pipeline and automating manual operational tasks.
Collaborate alongside product and infrastructure teams to guarantee their services remain deployable, observable, and resilient at scale.
Deploy and evolve methodologies including GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, and progressive delivery patterns.
Construct systems capable of automatically assessing deployment health utilizing metrics, logs, traces, and alerts to catch regressions and initiate safe rollbacks.
Develop systems supporting agent-assisted or autonomous deployment workflows powered by modern AI tools.

Requirements

Strong proficiency in Go and/or Python.
Practical background working with Kubernetes-based deployment systems at scale.
Experience designing or operating continuous deployment platforms.
Familiarity with GitOps tooling such as Flux or ArgoCD.
Deep commitment to safe production rollouts and blast radius minimization.
Strong developer tool culture centered on best practices.
Enthusiasm for building foundational infrastructure while thriving independently on ambiguous, high-impact technical challenges.

Nice to Have

Personal experience developing open-source developer tools.
