Role Overview

This opportunity places the engineer within a new Enterprise AI Team focused on solving complex challenges alongside core research units. The work centers on partnering with major restaurant brands and technology partners to deliver menu-aware drive-thru ordering agents, real-time analytics, and robust automated solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, construct, and maintain high-performance backend systems supporting automated order-taking platforms.
Partner closely with colleagues to integrate backend architectures smoothly with machine learning models and client devices.
Track and enhance production backend system performance continuously.
Construct and maintain integrations connecting with third-party restaurant software, including payment gateways, POS systems, and loyalty programs.
Establish industry best practices for testing, code quality, and system design to maintain secure and reliable operations.
Fine-tune artificial intelligence pipelines to enhance functionality within difficult audio settings and scale smoothly to accommodate new menus.
Run structured experiments to confirm the product impact delivered by new features.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Bring a minimum of 4 years of practical experience building, implementing, and maintaining production backend infrastructure.
Demonstrate a proven history of creating scalable, high-performance backend systems.
Possess familiarity with cloud-hosted infrastructure and deployment tech, including AWS and API design.
Exhibit exceptional problem-solving abilities and readiness to adjust within a fast-changing startup setting.
Show strong communication skills alongside a collaborative and results-driven work approach.

Nice to Have

Practical background working with audio data.
Experience building a backend system from the ground up.
Background connecting systems with various third-party APIs, specifically Point of Sale platforms.
Coding familiarity with Python, Java, or Kotlin.
Hands-on knowledge of containerization tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
Prior involvement working directly in or alongside machine learning and artificial intelligence teams.
