Role Overview

DigitalOcean is hiring a full-time Software Engineer, AI to work onsite in Karachi. Reporting to the AI Engineering Manager, the professional collaborates with product managers, infrastructure teams, and platform engineers. The primary focus involves owning the development of end-to-end artificial intelligence solutions that automate operations and improve the developer experience within the Cloudways platform.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement intelligent agents to automate daily workflows
Integrate artificial intelligence agents with existing Cloudways services utilizing MCP
Improve current autonomous systems through anomaly detection and automation enhancements
Build production code using Python and PHP
Connect services with backend systems, application programming interfaces, and databases
Apply fundamental artificial intelligence concepts such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation, prompt engineering, and function calling
Partner cross-functionally with product, infrastructure, and development teams

Requirements

Possess three to five years of relevant engineering experience
Capability to operate independently on end-to-end artificial intelligence solutions
Proficiency in writing production code using Python and PHP
Experience with basic artificial intelligence concepts including prompt engineering, function calling, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation
Ability to collaborate across cross-functional groups like product and infrastructure
