Role Overview

AeroVect seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer for its perception team to drive the development of autonomous ground handling solutions. The professional will own the perception system roadmap and guide junior team members on engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design 3D object detection models incorporating camera, LiDAR, and Radar multi-modal techniques.
Construct and manage pipelines for data collection and performance evaluation metrics.
Create a proprietary dataset utilizing multiple modalities for model training and assessment.
Handle the complete lifecycle of 2D and 3D object detection models from training to production deployment and monitoring.
Formulate and implement the strategic roadmap for the perception system.
Coach junior engineers on industry best practices and technical standards.

Requirements

Hold a Master’s or PhD degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Deep Learning, or a closely related discipline.
Bring a minimum of 7 years of specialized professional experience designing and deploying 2D and 3D object detection models.
Possess practical background working across the complete perception stack encompassing sensing, preprocessing, detection, and tracking.
Demonstrate proficiency in the Python programming language.
Exhibit the capability to spot operational gaps and direct cross-functional initiatives.

Nice to Have

Earned a PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of autonomous vehicle stacks.
Bring direct experience designing perception systems covering both detection and tracking.
Maintain academic publications in prominent conferences such as CVPR, ICRA, NeurIPS, IJCAI, or AAAI.
