Role Overview

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join the Cloud Customer Experience organization. In this position, the individual will manage core billing systems end-to-end, spanning metering, pricing, invoicing, and payments. The professional will collaborate extensively with Product, Finance, Customer Success, and engineering groups to deliver a reliable billing experience for customers powering large-scale AI workloads.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the design and operation of reliable billing services to protect revenue and maintain customer trust.
Establish a multi-year technical roadmap for Crusoe Cloud's billing platform, supporting high-throughput metering and invoicing.
Architect real-time and batch usage processing pipelines, immutable ledger models, and automated reconciliation engines for financial correctness.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and Product to translate complex enterprise pricing into platform capabilities.
Enable flexible billing capabilities to support evolving cloud offerings and enterprise commitments.
Mitigate systemic risk by setting up safeguards, transaction standards, and automated verification workflows.
Elevate system observability, reconciliation processes, and fault-tolerant error handling across distributed systems.
Mentor Senior and Staff engineers and set architectural practices within the organization.

Requirements

Bring 9+ years of professional software engineering experience designing distributed backend systems using languages like Go, Java, Rust, or C++.
Demonstrate an extensive track record building mission-critical billing, payments, high-throughput metering, or financial ledger systems.
Possess expertise in designing and scaling fault-tolerant, low-latency distributed systems with data consistency guarantees and immutable ledger architectures.
Show familiarity with real-time and batch data processing, event-driven architectures, and financial data modeling.
Exhibit a strong ownership mindset focused on correctness, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
Display experience establishing observability, automated reconciliation, and alerting frameworks across high-volume environments.
Demonstrate an ability to work closely with Product, Finance, and executive stakeholders.
