Senior Staff Product Manager (AI Software Factory)
About this role
Scaling software development speed and reliability across Housecall Pro requires overcoming significant operational bottlenecks in the software delivery lifecycle. As the Senior Staff Product Manager for the AI Software Factory, you will solve this challenge by defining the strategy and leading execution for shared internal systems that enable engineering teams to build, test, release, and operate software using artificial intelligence. Your direct customers are internal product and engineering teams, and your work fundamentally changes how software is created across the entire organization.
You will collaborate closely with engineering to identify delivery constraints, decide which agentic capabilities to scale or retire, and improve velocity without compromising security, reliability, or accountability. Success in this role requires hands-on experience building AI tools for technical users, strong platform judgment, and the ability to lead through influence across multiple cross-functional groups without formal authority. You will operate in a fast-moving technical environment where you test ideas in real workflows, evaluate agent behavior, and adapt as development practices evolve.
What you will do
- Set the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the AI Software Factory, including decisions on what to test, scale, standardize, or retire.
- Prioritize work across product and engineering teams to create maximum leverage and address shared challenges rather than individual requests.
- Partner with engineering to shape technical direction, resolve complex tradeoffs, and align stakeholders around clear decisions.
- Define meaningful metrics for software delivery speed, quality, reliability, cost, and adoption, connecting them directly to business outcomes.
- Drive adoption of new tools and workflows across teams by utilizing feedback and evidence to refine the platform over time.
What you need
- Bring 8 or more years of product management experience with a proven track record of delivering complex technical or platform products across multiple teams.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience building and shipping AI or agentic tools for engineers or internal users, including designing and running evaluations of agent behavior.
- Possess technical fluency across APIs, architecture, data, reliability, security, and technical tradeoffs to engage credibly with senior engineers.
- Show a demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-team work and make decisions without relying on formal authority.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field or possess equivalent work experience.
